As you know, our hearts were saddened this year with the passing of Jeanette Halcrow and Connie McPhee. These untimely deaths have ;eft huge holes in our committee. It is with great appreciation for excellent notes of Jeanette that we, as a committee, have been able to continue on doing Outreach work in our communities without lapse. Elaine Evoy took on the tremendous task of organizing our Community Christmas Supper which was once again well received. Cathy Bright and Lorna Greene spearheaded the Christmas Cheer hampers. Suzanne Evoy has taken over the secretary position and Lorna Greene will be the chairperson for the group. Cathy Bright remains our treasurer and Linda Prodan our goodwill ambassador.

We have helped many families requiring assistance this year. Along with the Christmas Cheer baskets, food hampers were also given out at Easter.

The generosity of both Bar River and Echo Bay united Churches, Leaside United Church in Toronto, McDougall Fuels, Imperial Fuels, North American Construction, Echo Bay Public School, Laird Central School, Bar River Women’s Institute, the Township Office in Echo Bay and anonymous individuals in our community have allowed us to assist those in need in our communities. We are richly blessed.

We continue to move forward and share gifts that God has given us.
